How to use the Raptile repair and rescue leak tape

Wrap the rescue tape around the area you need to repair by stretching and overlapping as you wrap. Stretch to at least double its original length to ensure a good bond. If you are using the leak tape to repair leaking pipes, stretch to the maximum. The tighter wrapping the quicker and stronger the bond. As you wrap the tape make sure you overlap so that half the width is covered with the next wrap. The first and last wrap should completely overlap onto the previous wrap for a complete bond. Additional layers may be necessary, and the same process should be used over the previous layers.

  1. Start wrapping the rescue tape about 6cm to 10cm away from the problem area.
  2. As you wrap the tape make sure you overlap so that half the width is covered with the next wrap.
  3. The first and last wrap should completely overlap onto the previous wrap for a complete bond.
  4. Most hose repairs can be repaired with 3-5 layers in thickness.

The repair rescue tape does not stick to the surface, and therefore it does not matter whether the surface is clean or dirty. If you can overlap the tape onto itself, it will work, even if the surface is wet, dirty, or oily. You should avoid getting dirt or oil between the layers, however, as this will interfere with the bonding surface.

Cut with a utility knife or scissors and will never leave any sticky residue behind like traditional adhesive tapes because there is no adhesive!

Resists fuels, oil, acids, solvents, saltwater, road salt and UV rays. For repairing leaks on plumbing and hoses in a flash. It can be used to insulate electrical wiring and it can withstand a constant working temperature of 200C. Simply stretch and wrap for a permanent seal. 3 metres long.
